Electrically Reduced Water

There are many therapeutic benefits of drinking molecular hydrogen water, below are the three key components that contribute to creating high levels of active molecular hydrogen or also known as electrically reduced water.

Electrically Reduced Water (ERW). There are many studies on the benefits of ERW if you feel called to do any further research.

ALKALISING

Alkalised water is restructured water. An electrical change by the process of electrolysis which causes a dissociation of water (shocking the water with electricity) which splits the hydrogen (H2) from the oxygen (O) in H2O. This process is also called ionisation, which naturally raises the pH level of the water passing through, producing high antioxidant hydrogen-rich water. Enagic’s ioniser machines produce a continuous flow of fresh ionised water straight from your tap.

Fact: Alkaline water (not referring to Alkalised), such as bottled water you find on shelves at the supermarket, can be produced by simply adding baking soda to the water and is purely just a chemical change, which is harmful to our bodies long term and can affect our bloods pH (check for the bottles ingredients list on the label) This will keep the water at a high pH level due to the chemical change, but won’t contain the wonderful antioxidants and other benefits that are made with ‘electrically reduced water’ (ERW).

There are some companies that produce bottled alkalised water via the ERW process but the only problem with this is that bottled water is known to take a very long time to get from the production line ➙ to supermarket shelves. The pH levels produced by ERW are strongest only in its first few days and the antioxidant properties (ORP) start to diminish within 18-24 hours, so by the time you have purchased your “Alkalised bottled water”, it contains nowhere near or none of the health benefits and properties that you paid extra for and the plastic bottles over time leech harmful chemicals into the water that are not meant to be consumed.


ANTI-OXIDISATION (ORP)

What ERW is really renowned for is it being rich in active molecular hydrogen because of the water dissociation process naturally producing high amounts of Antioxidants.

Antioxidants are substances that help protect our cells against the damaging free radicals. They assist by donating and electron to the free radical, neutralising it and preventing it from causing further damage.

Antioxidants in active hydrogen help to create an alkaline buffer in the blood stream, so that if you do consume something acidic, it assists in becoming neutralised. The more free radicals we can neutralise, the more toxins we can effectively flush from our system helping counteract the damaging effects of ageing and help fight against diseases and potential illness.

Free Radicals are unstable molecules that have an unpaired electron and is actually a completely normal biological process (naturally formed during digestion). It can happen during metabolism or as part of an appropriate immune response. Free radicals cause harm and damage to our cells associated with the negative effect of ageing and other harmful exposures. An overload of free radicals can cause conditions such as vision loss, inflammation of joints (arthritis), damage to nerve cells which may contribute to Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s, heart disease & some cancers. Some damage may become irreversible.

They cause this damage by stealing an electron (a component of an atom), leaving the cell unbalanced. In stealing an electron, a new free radical is formed that needs to take another electron, causing a chain reaction.

Oxidation can be accelerated by stress, smoking, radiation, certain medications & antibiotics, alcohol, sun exposure, pollution, processed foods and many other factors. The process of oxidisation damages cell membranes, cellular proteins, enzymes, DNA and other structures in our bodies. When oxygen is metabolised, it creates unstable molecules (free radicals) which steal electrons from other molecules.
